Holiday package drive under way

MANITOWOC — Personal care items and gifts for troops with ties to Manitowoc County will be packaged beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday at the AMVETS Post No. 99 Clubhouse, 4310 Conroe St.

The holiday care packages collection drive continues through Saturday with donors able to drop off items at the UnitedOne Credit Union inside Wal-Mart, Grace Congregational United Church of Christ in Two Rivers and the AMVETS Post. The drive is coordinated by the county's support group providing comfort to personnel in any military branch stationed in the U.S. or overseas.

Church hosting Cookie Walk

MANITOWOC — First Lutheran Church, 521 N. Eighth St., will host its annual Cookie Walk from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 5 in the Fellowship Hall.

Sponsored by the church's youth organization, the event includes a wide variety of holiday cookies, candies, fudge and other treats for sale to the public in a buffet-style setting.

The cost is $5 per pound.

Group planning Christmas party

REEDSVILLE — The Friends of St. Patrick Inc. will hold its annual Christmas party at Deer Run Golf and Dining, Brillion, Dec. 13.

The dinner of chicken and ribs will be served at 1 p.m. Reservations are required by calling (920) 732-3127 (920) 756-3471 before Dec. 5.

The cost is $15, which includes tax and tip.

The public is invited to the dinner and other Friends events.
