Irene E. Alm, 91, of Stevens Point, passed away Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at Saint Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point.

She was born in Amherst, on July 12, 1918, a daughter of the late Otto and Wilhelmina (Lutz) Maves. Irene married Harold Alm on May 18, 1939, in Amherst. He survives. She was a member of Nelsonville Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Harold Alm, Stevens Point; children, Lynda (Robert) Helmrick, Hazelhurst, Dona (Duane) Fisher, Stevens Point, Harlan (Mary Jo) Alm, Amherst, and Rena (Mike) Drummond, Wittenberg; brother, Carl Maves, Amherst. She is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Peggy Bauman; and two brothers, Lloyd and Otto Maves.

Funeral services will be held at Nelsonville Lutheran Church, Nelsonville, at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, with the Rev. Jonathan Sachs officiating. Interment will be in the Nelsonville Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
