David L. Scharinger, 73, of 3330 Pine Wood Dr., died Thursday, November 12, 2009, at St. Nicholas Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Born December 20, 1935, in Sheboygan, David was a son of the late John and Wilma Krueger Scharinger.

David attended St. Dominic's Grade School and Sheboygan Central High School.

On April 20, 1963, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Wendland at The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, Sheboygan.

David served his country in the U.S. Army where he completed his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. David was then stationed at Fort Hood, TX where he worked as a mechanic.

David was employed by Fresh Brands for more than 25 years, retiring in April of 1998.

David was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed golfing with his retired buddies, woodworking, hunting, fishing and cheering for the Brewers. David loved his family, especially spending time with the grandchildren and did all he could to see his family succeed.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; six sons, David (Patricia), Leavenworth, KS and their children, Sarah and Elizabeth; Daniel (Mary), Fond du Lac and their children, Chad, Ryan, Creg and Logan; Scott (Lisa), Kiel; Michael (Kimberly), Sheboygan and their children, Tommy and Meredith; Kevin, Sheboygan and his children, Julia and Charlie; Brian (Rebecca) Kewauskum and their son, Alex; two sisters, Sylvia (Roger) Smies, Sheboygan; Karen Scharinger, West Bend; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 16, 2009, at the Lippert-Olson Funeral Home, 1132 Superior Ave. The Rev. Alan Kretschmar, pastor of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, will officiate. Relatives and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

A memorial fund has been established in his name for the benefit of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church and Grade School.
