10 YEARS AGO: "Three Hits and a Miss" will perform at the LuCille Tack Center for the Arts in Spencer. Enjoy a marvelous selection of traditional hits form the 1940s and '50s as well as some of today's favorites.
Karlene Lindow of Chili is one of 18 freshmen with interests in agriculture who recently received an $850 Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation scholarship for the 1999-2000 academic year at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
25 YEARS AGO: Lori LaSee, a 1982 graduate of Stratford High School, and Paul DeJarlais, a 1982 graduate of Columbus High School, each has been awarded $1,000 Presidential Scholarships for the current academic year at Mt. Senario College, Ladysmith.
50 YEARS AGO: The Marshfield Senior High School Forest Fund was enriched by a $300 donation from Roland Frey, president of the City View PTA. The City View PTA, which consists of about 15 families, raised the money during a pancake supper. The donation was presented to the school's student treasurer, Emily Laidlaw.
75 YEARS AGO: Mr. and Mrs. Emil Umhoefer of Marshfield, accompanied by Mrs. Ivo Umhoefer and Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Binzel of Marshfield, left Sunday afternoon for Milwaukee, where they will attend the state canners convention.
