Friday, Nov. 13 — The Cody Clauson Trio will perform at 7:30 p.m. at the Wolf River Community Theatre, 225 W. North Water St., New London. The group, consisting of Cody, Brittney and Brent Clauson of Coloma, Wis., plays a blend of ragtime, country/western jazz, swing and bluegrass using banjos, guitars, fiddles, drums, a musical saw, piano, string bass and accordion. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 13-15 — Hortonville High School will present the musical “Crazy for You” at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the auditorium. Saturday, Nov. 14 — The Wolf River Veterinary Clinic, 216 W. Wolf River Ave., New London, will hold an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be tours of the clinic’s boarding facilities and surgery, X-ray and dental rooms. Saturday, Nov. 14 — His Way Events will host a benefit show featuring a stand-up comedian at New London High School. Daren Streblow is known for his family-friendly, clean routine. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and concessions will be sold. The high school jazz band will perform prior to the show, which begins at 7 p.m. with “Family Fuse — A Game Show That Connects Generations.” Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Saturday, Nov. 14 — An artist reception will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mosquito Hill Nature Center in New London. Christine Manno’s collection of gourd art and woven pine needle baskets will be on display. Other artists will demonstrate mediums such as working with inlaid wood, pyrography, woodcarving, photography, acrylic, oil and watercolor. Friends of Mosquito Hill Inc. will sponsor a raffle for artwork. Admission is free. Desserts and hot beverages will be available for purchase. Monday, Nov. 16 — The Wolf River Art League will host guest speaker Brenda Wenberg at 7 p.m. in the senior center room at the Washington Center, 600 W. Washington St., New London. Wenberg will teach the audience about critiques and artist statements. Attendees are encouraged to bring an art project for her to critique. Refreshments will be served. Tuesday, Nov. 17 — Patricia Toney, a counselor with ThedaCare Behavioral Health, will discuss typical triggers of holiday stress and how to cope with them during a free presentation at 6 p.m. in the Wolf River Room at New London Family Medical Center. Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 17-18 — The Hortonville Area School District will conduct a Children’s Fair for all 3- and 4-year-olds at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Greenville. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 17 and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 18. Children must be 3-years-old on or before Sept. 1, 2010 to be eligible to attend. Thursday, Nov. 19 — The Bernie McGrenahan “Happy Hour” tour will make a stop from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Room E130 at Fox Valley Technical College in Grand Chute. The tour’s message addresses situations students encounter during college in which alcohol poses potential problems. The event is free. Visitors should use Entrance 10. Friday, Nov. 20 — The New London Family Medical Center Auxiliary will hold its annual Fall Bazaar from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the hospital cafeteria. The event includes a bake sale and craft, holiday and gift items. A raffle for prizes will be held at 1 p.m. Tickets will be available in the hospital gift shop and during the event. Saturday, Nov. 28 — The annual “Gone, But Not Forgotten” Star Light Tree ceremony will be held at Commercial Club Park in Hortonville. The event begins with Santa traveling through the village at 3:15 p.m. and then joining the middle school jazz band at the park from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. Children will receive treat bags and hot chocolate and cookies will be available for everyone. The 12th annual lighting of the tree will take place at 4:25 p.m. Lights can be purchased for a $10 donation through Nov. 20.
