Hortonville graduates recognized by UW-Eau Claire honor societies

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire chapter of the national Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma honor societies recently announced the induction of 224 members and named 2009-10 officers.

Shauna Stoeger, Hortonville, was listed among the new inductees.

Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma are national honor societies that recognize and encourage academic excellence among first-year students. Membership in Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma is available to full-time freshmen who achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or better and are in the top 20 percent of their class.

In addition, the university’s chapter of Mortar Board recently initiated 27 new members. Brandon Trimbell, Hortonville, was elected treasurer/Web publisher.

Mortar Board is a national honor society that recognizes seniors for achievement in scholarship, leadership and service.
