SLC to celebrate homecoming

MANITOWOC — Silver Lake College invites all alumni and friends for homecoming activities Friday through Sunday.

One of the activities is an alumni basketball game Saturday, featuring the Lady Lakers vs. an alumni women's team coached by Don Koeser, coach from 1989 to 2001.

The weekend schedule includes:

Friday

  • 6:30 p.m. — Welcome reception with SLC President George Arnold in the private dining room

  • 7:30 p.m. — Student solo voice and instrument recital

    Saturday

  • 8:30 a.m. — Memorial Mass, campus chapel

  • 10 a.m. — Ribbon cutting for the new campus bookstore (all those in attendance will be registered to win prizes)

  • 3 p.m. — Lady Lakers vs. women's alumni basketball team (game will be held at the University of Wisconsin-Manitowoc fieldhouse); halftime will feature a dunk contest, giveaways and a free-throw contest

  • 6 p.m. — Alumni reunion receptions at Generose Enrichment Center featuring the following groups: English Club/Mattermind; SCEC/Special Education; and MENC/ Music

  • 7 p.m. — Alumni dinner on campus

    Sunday

  • 8 a.m. to noon — 35th annual pancake breakfast and bake sale

  • 10 a.m. — Mass, college chapel

  • 3 p.m. — Guest artist series concert — Brass Roots Trio
