Horicon news Musical performances
Horicon High School students will perform "Nunsense: The Megamusical" at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, and at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, in the Horicon High School gym.
Admission is $7 for adults and $4 for students and senior citizens.
Mayville news Benefit event
A benefit for Mayville toddler Gianna Spittel, a 2½-year-old with a rare, inoperable brain tumor, will be held from 4 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Mayville Park Pavilion.
Gianna was diagnosed with the tumor in 2008. It is located in a portion of her brain that causes her growth hormones and cortisol levels to become elevated, causing rapid, uncontrollable weight-gain.
The band Cerfus Project will perform from 8 p.m. to midnight. There is a $5 cover charge for those ages 12 and over. Horseback rides will be offered in the park by Todd and Lisa Wanie from 4 to 7 p.m. for a cost of $5.
Free Safe Rides will be offered every hour from 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. in Horicon at Dodge Entertainment Center, Rock River Tap, Ginger's, Danny Boy's and Lake Street Retreat. Safe Rides will also be available at Strikes, Spares and Spirits in Iron Ridge.
A fund has been set up for Gianna and her family at M&I Bank in Mayville, 209 Horicon St. Donations can be directed to the bank care of Marcia Krieser.

Marais Players
Community theater group The Marais Players will present "On Golden Pond" Nov. 13-15 at the Mayville American Legion, 134 S. Main St.
Play-only performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 13-14, as well as at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15. Cost for play-only performances is $10 per person.
Dinner theater performances will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, and at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14. Cost for dinner theater performances is $25 per person.

Chili dinner
A chili dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at St. John's Lutheran Church, located at the corner of Bridge and Walnut streets.
Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 5-10. There is no cost for children ages 4 and under. Carryouts are available.
Menu will include chili, crackers, cheese, beverages and homemade desserts.
Proceeds will be donated to the Mayville Food Pantry, Lutheran World Relief and Camp LuWiSoMo.
Library story times
Mayville Public Library, 111 N. Main St., will host several upcoming preschool story times. Each session will be held on Wednesdays at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
On Nov. 11, the story time will include stories about transportation. Nov. 18 will feature stories and a craft project about Thanksgiving. There will be no story time Nov. 25.
Dec. 2 will feature rhyming stories and nursery rhymes. "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" will be featured on Dec. 9. Story times will not be held on Dec. 23 and 30.

Lomira news Musical performance
Lomira High School students will present "Copacabana, The Musical," at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 12-14, in the Lomira Middle School gym.
Tickets are available at the Lomira High School office and are $5 for bleacher seating and $8 for table seats.
Library
The Lomira Public Library has several upcoming fall and winter story times. All story times are held at 10 a.m. Wednesday mornings at the library.
The next story times will be Veterans Day-USA Bear on Nov. 11 and Jurassic Jiggle on Dec. 2.
Brownsville news Library events
The Brownsville Public Library will celebrate 60 years with an open house from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15.
All ages are welcome to attend the event. Stacey Schmude, "The Balloon Kid," will be available to create balloon animals and sculptures for children. Refreshments will be served. Scrapbooks about the history of Brownsville will be on display, and a slide show will be presented.
From now through the date of the open house, the library will offer a question of the week raffle for a chance to win $25 gift certificates to various local merchants. Library guests can stop by each week to view a question and enter an answer. New questions will be posted each Monday, for a total of five questions. Correct answers to each question will be entered in the drawing, which will take place at the open house Nov. 15. Winners do not need to be present to win.
