Motorist released after crash
BIRON -- A Wisconsin Rapids woman has been released from the hospital following a three-vehicle crash on Highway 54.
At about 1:15 p.m. Friday, a car driven by Peggy T. Huebner, 54, was traveling east on Highway 54 near 32nd Street in Biron when it stopped to deliver a Daily Tribune newspaper. The car was hit from behind by a second car, driven by Douglas H. Hahn, 47, Stevens Point, whose vehicle had just changed from the left- to right-hand lane, according to the Wood County Sheriff's Department crash report.
Hahn's vehicle spun back into the center lane and was hit by a third vehicle, driven by Patricia M. Ziegel, 40, Wisconsin Rapids, whose car was knocked into the median. The third vehicle had little damage, Wood County Deputy Jon Anderson said. Huebner was transported to Riverview Hospital, where she was treated and released.
