This is winter weather awareness week

Wausau Daily Herald

The forecast might call for 60 degrees today, but this is Wisconsin and winter could be here any day.

Gov. Jim Doyle has proclaimed November 9-13, as Winter Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin.

Doyle pointed out in his proclamation that last winter many locations in Wisconsin had record-breaking snowfall, there were 19 winter storms, and locations across the state that had temperatures drop to minus 40 degrees.

Already this year, Wausau has seen 1.4 inches of snow.
