BRANDON — Brandon School's 11th annual Veterans Day program will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, with a parachute delivery of a 12-foot by 18-foot American flag in honor of all American veterans.
Skydive Adventure, Omro, will provide the skydiver, weather permitting.
Wisconsin District 6 Congressman Tom Petri is the keynote speaker for the indoor program that will follow.
State Sen. Luther Olson, R-Ripon, state Sen. Randy Hopper, R-Fond du Lac, County Executive Allen Buechel, Sheriff Mick Fink and other local dignitaries and guests will also participate.
The program includes musical selections performed by the middle school band under the direction of Crystal Hardtke; musical tributes to American veterans by all Brandon School classes under the direction of Tammy VandeBerg and Ben Vis; and presentations by middle school classes honoring the history and the significance of American presidents who are veterans, which is the program theme.
Active duty military personnel will be in attendance, and Ripon ROTC cadets will present and retire the colors with Brandon elementary percussion students providing the marching cadence.
Brandon-Fairwater American Legion Post 378 will serve as the honor guard and firing squad.
All area residents and veterans are invited to attend.
