  • Sarah Mueller, of Green Bay, graduated with a degree in Spanish from Augsburg College, Rochester, Minn.

  • Tony Stoehr of De Pere was named to the 2008-2009 dean's list at Becker College, Worcester, Mass.

  • Melanie Yanzick of De Pere graduated from the Adams Academy, an intensive leadership development opportunity for small groups of students offered at Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa. The academy is a component of the Donald V. Adams Institute, established by Drake alumni and friends to help students develop new abilities and a strong commitment to community service. She was one of 173 graduates.

  • Anna Schumacher of Green Bay was named to the spring semester dean's list at Southern Utah University. She is majoring in human nutrition.

  • Megan Halmstad of Seymour was named to the spring semester dean's list at the University of Wisconsin-Superior.

  • Liz Van Erem, of De Pere, was named to the spring semester dean's list at Bryan College, Dayton, Tenn.

  • Margaret Opelt was named to the spring semester dean's list at Lee University, Cleveland, Tenn. She is the daughter of Dennis and Jean Opelt of De Pere.

  • John Lepak of Omaha, Neb., and formerly of Green Bay, earned dean's list honors for the spring semester at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He expects to graduate in December with a bachelor's degree in construction management. Lepak, who graduated from Green Bay Notre Dame Academy in 2003, is the son of Michael Lepak and Debra Lepak, both of Green Bay.

  • Bryan Franklin, a 1994 graduate of Kewaunee High School, was inducted into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at Michigan Technological University. He is the son of Robert Franklin of Green Bay and LeAnna Franklin of Kewaunee. He graduated with a master's degree in computer science.

  • Jackie Connelly and Caroline Rohloff, both of Green Bay, were named to the spring semester dean's list at Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington, Ill.

  • Marianne McGlinn of Green Bay was named to the spring dean's list at Southeast Missouri State University.

  • Lucas McMahon of Pulaski graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Marathon County last spring.

  • Robert Simmer of Green Bay was named to the spring semester dean's list at the University of Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business for outstanding scholarship. He is the son of Mike and Jane Simmer, a 2006 graduate of Notre Dame Academy, and is majoring in finance.

  • Local students were named to the spring dean's list at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.     High school honors

  • Twenty-seven Wisconsin 2009 high school graduates shared $24,500 in prizes as winners of the Wisconsin Elks Association U.S. Constitution Contest. Berndt Brummel of Green Bay was one of the 27 students and was awarded $500 and is a graduate of Green Bay Notre Dame Academy, Elks Lodge 259.
