Military notes for Nov. 8
Sgt. 1st Class Michael J. Kriewaldt was named to the Commandant's List when he graduated from the Advanced NCO Course at Fort Knox, Ky. Kriewaldt, a member of the 101st Airborne Division, has served three tours in Iraq, earning a Bronze Star during his last tour. He and his family have moved to Fort Dix, N.J., where he will serve a three-year tour as a senior enlisted adviser to the New Jersey National Guard. Kriewaldt is the son of Kathleen Koepke of Appleton and John Kriewaldt of Riverton, N.Y.
Gerald P. Umentum graduated from the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps leader development and assessment course, also known as Operation Warrior Forge, at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash. A 2005 graduate of Denmark High School, he is the son of Gerald Umentum of Lena and Maribel Umentum of Menasha.
Air Force Reserve Airman Tabitha A. Sandberg graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. A 2009 graduate of Winneconne High School, she is the daughter of Valeri Johnson of Winneconne and Daniel Sandberg of Zimmerman, Minn.
Army Pvt. Zackery J. Simmons has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. A 2009 graduate of Neenah High School, he is the son of Dorothy Simmons of Neenah.
