Military notes for Nov. 8

  • Sgt. 1st Class Michael J. Kriewaldt was named to the Commandant's List when he graduated from the Advanced NCO Course at Fort Knox, Ky. Kriewaldt, a member of the 101st Airborne Division, has served three tours in Iraq, earning a Bronze Star during his last tour. He and his family have moved to Fort Dix, N.J., where he will serve a three-year tour as a senior enlisted adviser to the New Jersey National Guard. Kriewaldt is the son of Kathleen Koepke of Appleton and John Kriewaldt of Riverton, N.Y.

  • Gerald P. Umentum graduated from the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps leader development and assessment course, also known as Operation Warrior Forge, at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash. A 2005 graduate of Denmark High School, he is the son of Gerald Umentum of Lena and Maribel Umentum of Menasha.

  • Air Force Reserve Airman Tabitha A. Sandberg graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. A 2009 graduate of Winneconne High School, she is the daughter of Valeri Johnson of Winneconne and Daniel Sandberg of Zimmerman, Minn.

  • Army Pvt. Zackery J. Simmons has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. A 2009 graduate of Neenah High School, he is the son of Dorothy Simmons of Neenah.
