Woman airlifted after Sunday afternoon accident

A 65-year-old Stevens Point woman was airlifted Sunday afternoon after an accident in Whiting near the intersection of Post Road and Porter Road.

Portage County Ambulance transported Donna Mansavage to the Stevens Point Airport where Spirit of Marshfield flew her out, said Portage County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Ben Beaudoin.

He did not know the extent of Mansavage’s injuries or where she was transported.

Beaudoin said Joseph Nugent, 20, of Plover, was driving northbound on Post Road, intending to go north. Witnesses stated Nugent had a green light.

Mansavage was westbound on Porter Road, and stopped in the path of the northbound vehicle, Beaudoin said.

Nugent was not injured. Authorities received report of the accident at 1:11 p.m. Sunday.

No citations have been given at this time. No passengers were in either vehicle.

The Village of Plover Police Department, Plover Fire Department, Plover EMS and the Portage County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene, Beaudoin said.
