Briefs: CWC releases all-conference teams

Stevens Point-area teams were once again dominant among all-conference selections in the Central Wisconsin Conference-8 and 10 divisions. Teams in football and volleyball were released this week.

In football, Pacelli scored 15 total selections on the CWC-8 team and Iola-Scandinavia had 13. The CWC-10 team saw Almond-Bancroft lead area teams with nine selections.

In volleyball, both player of the year honors went to area players. Amherst's Jenna Pitt was the top player in the CWC-8 and Tri-County's Megan Detlor was named best in the CWC-10. Pacelli led all CWC-8 teams with five conference selections. Rosholt had the same number, leading CWC-10 teams.

Six named all-conference for Pacelli soccer team

Sophomore midfielder John Koehl of Pacelli was named to the Mid-State All-Conference soccer team, receiving a unanimous vote. Pacelli's Owen Yenter and Ben Precourt were named to the second team.

Receiving honorable mention recognition were Pacelli's Ashlie Pinter, Lucas Molski and Zach Jensen.
