Waupaca County Republican Party hosts candidates forum today

IOLA — The Waupaca County Republican Party will host a forum today for candidates seeking state and federal office in 2010.

The two-hour event kicks off at 2 p.m. at the Central County Airport on County CE, just south of State 161 in Iola.

The list of speakers includes Atty. Gen. J.B. Van Hollen, Sheriff Brad Hardel and Mark Block, state director of Americans for Prosperity, the conservative group that hosted the tea party protests in the state.

Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker, one of three GOP gubernatorial candidates, is slated to speak.

Other candidates are:

  • Brett Davis and Dave Ross, who are running for lieutenant governor

  • Three of five 8th Congressional GOP candidates — Reid Ribble, Marc Savard and Andy Williams

  • State Sen. Luther Olsen, R-Ripon, and state Rep. Kevin Petersen, R-Waupaca

  • Waupaca County Clerk of Courts Terrie Tews-Liebe
