Tickets are now being sold for Southern Door High School's musical "Meet Me in St. Louis."
The show will be at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 12-14 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Southern Door Community Auditorium.
Based on the 1944 movie of the same title, the show will tell the story of a special American family with genuine humor and memorable songs such as "The Boy Next Door," "Whenever I'm With You," "A Raving Beauty," "The Trolley Song," "A Day In New York" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." Vocal director Nick Brylla insists the audience will be singing along with the chorus.
Forty students comprise the cast and include Sam Slaby and Monica Lenius as Mr. and Mrs. Smith; and Mitchell Schlise, Claire Ouimette, Katherine Spude, Natalie Bretl, and Mari McClelland as the Smith children, Lon, Rose, Esther, Agnes and Tootie. Ian Allsup plays Grandpa Prophater, and Sara Mueller is Katie. The cast is rounded out with Alex Sanchez as John Truitt, Luke Spude as Warren Sheffield, Felicia LeRoy as Lucille Ballard, April Delfosse as Eve, Jake Englebert as the Motorman, Ryan Nelson as Clinton Badger, Andrew Sanchez as Peewee Drummond, Jordan Lenius as Sidney Purvis and a talented chorus.
Brylla and Erika May, drama director, are assisted by Kristine Heyer, orchestra; Amber Englebert, choreography; George Ouimette, scenic and artistic design; Liz Bobbe, lighting and stage management; Sherry Bagnall, Mary Welch and Kelly Tassoul, costumes; Barb Schriner-Schmitt, makeup; Josh Lardinois, sound; and Bob and Sue Massart, stage management.
Diana Baker will play the piano, and the orchestra of students and local instrumentalists will include Ann Birnschein, trumpet; George Draeb, trombone; and Dawn Pitzen, horn.
Tickets cost $8 for adults and $5 for students younger than 18 and will be available at the SDHS office, Greisen's Appliances Plus in Sturgeon Bay and at the door.
Tractor, Toy Show
Southern Door FFA Alumni's fourth annual Tractor and Toy Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 29 in the Southern Door High School gym, 2073 County DK, Brussels. Admission to the show for ages 11 and older is $3 each. Ages 10 and younger get in free. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. All proceeds support the activities of FFA members at Southern Door High School.

Holiday concert
A holiday concert and raffle event will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 29 to benefit Door County's Habitat for Humanity and its Apostles Build program. Music will be provided by Parks, Phillips and Co. with special guest artists.
The concert will celebrate the collaborative efforts of local churches and organizations that joined together for the first Apostles Build to build an affordable home for a Door County family.
The benefit concert will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church at 1756 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay. A freewill offering will be taken, with all proceeds benefiting the Apostles Build. For information, contact Habitat for Humanity at (920) 743-2869.
Waste collection
The Door County household hazardous waste collection will takes place today from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Door County Highway Department , 1001 S. Duluth Ave., Sturgeon Bay.
