It may be the quiet season, but work is ongoing at the Noble House and our Gibraltar Historical Association. Doug Blahnik informs me that the Noble House will be open for tours from noon to 4 p.m. Thanksgiving weekend. Coming events include a tree lighting at Noble House on Dec. 21, featuring candles, music and the Juddville Lutheran Church choir singing in old-fashioned clothing.
Photos welcomed
The public is invited to bring photos to be scanned into the archives of the Historical Association. The photos can not only be from the 1800s, but also of current families. It doesn't take long for 50 years to pass, and several of us have photos and information that could be archived for future generations to see. Call Doug Blahnik at (920) 868-3172 for information.
Fish fry
Northern Door Kiwanis will hold its annual fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Mink River Basin in Ellison Bay. The all-you-can-eat meal costs $11 for adults, $10 for ages 65 and older and $6 for ages 12 and younger. Proceeds will benefit Gibraltar Schools Scholarship Fund.
Electronics drive
The Gibraltar High School yearbook staff is collecting used electronics to help fund this year's book. Please donate used cell phones, laptop computers, MP3 players, digital cameras and digital video cameras. Bring items to the high school library for recycling. Roberta Champeau is adviser of the yearbook staff.
Winter hours
The Information Center has launched its winter hours: from noon to 5 p.m. Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays.
