A bus carrying 24 students was involved in a crash with a van Friday afternoon in the Town of Herman, injuring one of the students on board, according to the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department.

Lt. John Detienne said the student, who suffered a minor injury, was taken by Orange Cross Ambulance to Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. The student’s age, name, hometown and school were not immediately available.
The crash occurred about 4:10 p.m. at Franklin Road and county Highway FF. Sheriff’s deputies were notified of the crash by a 911 call.

Detienne said the school bus, driven by Keith E. Coop, 63, of Howards Grove, was northbound on Franklin Road when it pulled out from a stop sign at Highway FF, striking the van, driven by Tonya C. Masters, 37, of Fond du Lac.

Responding to the crash scene were sheriff’s deputies, a Wisconsin State Patrol trooper, Howards Grove Jaws and First Responders, Franklin Fire Department and Orange Cross.

The crash remains under investigation.
