Abrams fire department receives grant

ABRAMS — Abrams Fire and Rescue received a national Bucket Brigade grant of $10,000 to purchase auto extraction equipment.

The squad was selected from among 100 firefighting units in Georgia-Pacific communities in 28 states.

With the grant, "We will be able to reach the victim faster so that the ambulance service can treat and transport the victim to a medical facility," said Quinn Ambrosius, Abrams fire chief.

Since the beginning of the Bucket Brigade program in 2006, 12 fire stations in Northeastern Wisconsin have received $110,250 in grants from Georgia-Pacific.
