ASHWAUBENON — Kaukauna rallied from two games down to defeat Fond du Lac 22-25, 24-26, 27-25, 25-20, 15-13 on Thursday night in a WIAA state girls volleyball Division 1 quarterfinal at the Resch Center.
Kaukauna's kill leaders were Jenni Fassbender with 22 and Leah Van Zeeland with 21. McKinzie Freimuth added 56 assists and Maria VanAbel contributed 23 digs.
Kayla Pickart totaled 18 kills, Morgan Nick had 14 kills, and Emily Reise had 45 assists to lead Fond du Lac (31-12).
Middleton defeated D.C. Everest 27-25, 25-19, 25-18 to advance.
Molly Toon led Middleton (41-5) with 19 kills and 20 digs, Kasey Williams added 32 assists, and Andrea Barman had 10 kills.
Molly Leith totaled 10 kills, Taylore Zblewski 21 assists, and Holly Edelburg 13 digs for D.C. Everest (27-13), which was eliminated from its eighth state appearance.
Katie Ellerson's 13 kills helped Muskego sweep Glendale Nicolet 25-18, 25-13, 25-22.
Rachel Neuberger had 12 kills, Alli Glisch had 11 kills and six digs and Kate La Tour had 43 assists for Muskego.
Melissa Morello had 12 kills, Rachel Morello totaled 27 assists and Dana Kenney had four kills and nine digs to lead Nicolet.
Muskego improved to 40-5 on the season and will face Burlington in the semifinals.
Burlington needed only three games to defeat Milwaukee Divine Savior Holy Anels 25-20, 25-18, 25-22 to advance.
Ciara Capezio had 13 kills, Mandi Baumeiser had 11 kills and Kayla Uhlenhake had 22 assists, four kills and five digs to lead Burlington.Kelly Brandenburg had seven kills, Amanda Dettman had 17 assists and ten digs and Mary Beste had 15 digs for Divine Savior.
