Letters: Drug ads serve purpose, though few watch them

Regarding Wayne Madsen's Oct. 28 commentary, "Should prescription drug ads be banned on TV?" the ads for drugs do alert people that fibromyalgia, restless leg syndrome and other illnesses are real. People need to investigate to understand why these "drugs" help.

Anyway, it isn't something to be concerned about. Ads are just too long and most viewers just return to other things — reading the paper and switching channels. It's a good time to set the table, let the dogs out, etc.

May you never experience restless leg syndrome.
