Woman reportedly shot by boyfriend in Manitowoc

Herald Times Reporter

MANITOWOC — A woman reportedly shot in the right leg by her boyfriend was taken away by ambulance from Cedar Grove Apartments at about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday.

A reporter on the scene said the woman, who was conscious, appeared to have blood on one of her socks.

Manitowoc police took a male into custody about 10 minutes before the woman was transported.

Police scanner transmissions identified the male as the woman’s boyfriend, and that the woman was in her 30s.

The call came in at about 9:45 p.m. Shortly thereafter, scanner transmissions said the male was still in the apartment with the woman.

A reporter on the scene saw at least six police officers with guns drawn. One of them appeared to have an assault rifle.
