TOWN OF MENASHA — The Taco John’s restaurant at Jacobsen Road and County CB has closed.

An executive from Taco John’s corporate office confirmed that the branch shut Oct. 26, and said it doesn’t affect the Taco John’s branch in Appleton, which is operating normally.

“I’m hopeful that the ownership group will reconsider the brand for that location,” said Dave Schuh, executive vice president and chief operations officer for Taco John’s, a 425-branch chain based in Cheyenne, Wyo.

Schuh said the growth in that part of the Fox Cities dropped off about the time the branch opened. The Depot, a pizzeria in the same Grand Central Station building closed in July. A Shell station in the same building is still operating.

The franchise’s ownership group, Fox Valley Restaurant LLC, is currently listed on the revoked sellers page of the Wisconsin Department of Revenue’s delinquent taxpayers Web site.

“We would have to see those issues resolved before approval would be granted for reopening,” Schuh said.
