Fireside Theatre trip

A few tickets remain for the Shepherd of the Hills parish bus trip to "Here's Love," at the Fireside Theatre in Fort Atkinson.

The show is based on the popular "Miracle on 34th Street" Christmas show. The cost is $83 and includes the motor bus trip, dinner and the show. Reservations and payment are due Friday, Nov. 6.

Spaghetti dinner

The Eden Lions Club is hosting a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Eden Community Center, 104 Pine St., Eden.

The dinner includes all-you-care-to-eat spaghetti along with tossed salad, garlic bread, dessert and a beverage. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children ages 5 to 10. Children under age 5 eat free. Carryouts are available. A cash bar will be available.

Kermis dinner

St. Martin congregation at Ashford will host its annual Kermis dinner from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8.

The dinner will feature chicken dumpling soup and chili as well as homemade bread and desserts. Carryouts will be available after the 7:30 a.m. Mass. The cost for the dinner is $6 for adults and $2 for children ages 4 to 10.

There are 65 auction items with tickets at $1 each or six for $5. Raffle tickets can be purchased at Urban's store in Ashford until Thursday. Items will be on display the day of the drawing. The drawing will take place at 2 p.m.

St. Martin Church is on Highway 67 in Ashford between Lomira and Campbellsport.

Fellowship group

The Christian Fellowship group will meet at 6 p.m. each Wednesday at the Campbellsport Public Library.

The group is discussing becoming a disciple, what it means, and how to apply it to one's daily life.

Town hall meeting

Alcohol will be the topic at a town hall meeting at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, at the Campbellsport Public Library.

A survey showed that 37 percent of Campbellsport students in Grades 9, 10 and 11 admitted to drinking alcohol in the past 30 days. Julie Sherman will talk about the subject of underage drinking.

Library

  • Children ages 3 to 6 are invited to story hour at 10:30 a.m. each Wednesday.

    Today, Nov. 4, is pizza day. The theme for Nov. 11 is "Rain, Rain, Go Away."

    These programs are free. Registration or regular attendance are not required.

  • Movie Madness is at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11. The movie "Up" follows the uplifting tale of 78-year-old balloon salesman Carl Fredrickens, who finally fulfills his lifelong dream of a great adventure when he ties thousands of balloons to his house and flies away to the wilds of South America. He discovers all too late that his biggest nightmare has stowed away on the trip — an overly optimistic 8-year-old Wilderness Explorer named Russell. Their imaginative adventure is filled with hilarity.

    Registration is not required. The film is rated PG. Children under the age of 10 will need to be accompanied by an adult.

  • Two sessions of seed beading will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 10. The first session will be at 5:45 p.m. and the second at 6:30 p.m. Those taking the class will learn the basics of needle and thread jewelry making. The instructors will walk each student through the creative steps so that everyone leaves with a completed pearl cluster.

    Cost of the workshop is $10. Registration and pre-payment are required. Space is limited to 12 students, so early signup is recommended.

  • Between now and Nov. 15, the library will be collecting food in exchange for paying off fines. One grocery item will be exchanged for $1 in fines. Some exemptions will apply.

    The items collected will be donated to the Campbellsport food pantry.

    Donations can be brought to the counter for a staff member to calculate the forgiven fines. Some exceptions will apply.

    The food panty is especially in need of canned fruits, canned vegetables, fruit juices, fruit snacks, cereals that children like and cleaners that help kill bacteria.

  • As the holiday season approaches, there are the difficult-to-buy-for names on many lists. The library suggests honoring those people by donating funds to the library in the their names.

    The staff will choose a library item that reflects the recipient's personality. A book plate indicating that this item was donated in his or her honor is added to the item and a card informing the person of the donation is mailed to the recipient. Anyone interested in donating an item rather than money can talk to a staff member before purchasing the item. This program is available throughout the year.
