JUNEAU — An Oconomowoc man who appeared in court drunk before a Dodge County judge is going to prison for felony bail jumping.

During a sentencing hearing on Oct. 28, James A. Poh, 43, was sentenced on two counts of felony bail jumping to two years in prison followed by three years of supervision.

Poh was also ordered to serve nine additional months of jail time for a conviction of resisting and obstructing an officer stemming from a 2007 incident, and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (third offense) and operating after revocation (fourth offense) stemming from a 2008 incident. After his release, Poh will spend four years on probation.

As Poh passed through security before his scheduled court appearance on Feb. 25, a deputy manning security at the front desk of the Dodge County Justice Facility alerted other officers that Poh lurched through the metal detector, almost falling to the ground, according to the criminal complaint.

Poh beseeched the officer not to tell Judge Brian Pfitzinger about the incident as he was scheduled to appear before Pfitzinger in Branch 1 Circuit Court that morning.

The former Mayville resident made his court appearance before Pfitzinger and was subsequently arrested by court staff for violating his terms of probation.

A subsequent breath test showed Poh to have a .23 percent blood alcohol concentration, nearly three times the legal limit of intoxication, according to the criminal complaint.
