Wausau Daily Herald

TOWN OF SPENCER — A Marshfield man was charged Monday with his sixth drunken driving offense hours after his Jeep Cherokee overturned in rural Marathon County.

A Marathon County Sheriff’s deputy was driving at about 2:45 a.m. behind the Jeep driven by Scott A.J. Miller, 32, when it left the roadway of Karau Avenue and overturned, according to a criminal complaint.

Miller was not injured in the crash and underwent field sobriety tests at the scene that indicated Miller was intoxicated, the deputy reported. Miller’s preliminary blood alcohol level was 0.27 percent.

Miller is being held in the Marathon County Jail on a $5,000 cash bond. His next court appearance is a preliminary hearing on Nov. 11.

According to the complaint, Miller was previously arrested for drunken driving in 1998 in Wood County, in 2000 in Marathon County, in 2001 and 2005 in Barron County and in 2007 in Wood County.
