Krueger, Rodger S.

Rodger S. Krueger, 83, rural Bonduel, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at Shawano. Rodger was born on Aug. 13, 1926, in the Town of Green Valley, to the late Helmuth and Margaret (Wendt) Krueger. Rodger was baptized at home on Aug. 29, 1926, confirmed on June 20, 1939, by Rev. William Schroeder at Zion Lutheran Church of Zachow. On Aug. 27, 1950, Rodger married Viola L. Karstedt at Immanuel Lutheran Church White Clay Lake by Pastor Behnke. Viola preceded him in death on March 4, 2005.

He is survived by his children, Marcella (Randy) Luepke, Sidney (Helen) Krueger, Linda (Bruce) McDermid, June (Scott) Elsner, Grace Blaser (fiance, Don Van Laarhoven); 15 grandchildren, Todd, Brandon and Jason Krueger, Angela Timm, Kevin Luepke, Lisa Stowers, Michael McDermid, Jessica Palmer, Karrie Bierhals, Bobbi Jo McDermid, Dana, Derek and Austin Elsner, Aaron and Tracy Blaser; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Elaine Everhart, Ft. Myers, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Hildegard Severson; a very special friend, Irene Mayer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Viola; three brothers-in-law; a sister-in-law.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Zachow with Deacon Zamzow officiating. Family and friends may call on Thursday at Zastrow Funeral Home in Cecil from 4 until 8 p.m. and Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the services. Interment will be held at Immanuel Church Cemetery White Clay Lake. Zastrow Funeral Home is assisting the family.
