DNR seeks input on Two Rivers storm water ponds

Herald Times Reporter

MADISON — The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is soliciting public comments regarding three storm water detention ponds planned for construction in Two Rivers. The city is a loan applicant for funding through the Clean Water Fund Program.

Storm water pond construction normally does not involve significant adverse environmental effects, according to a news release from the DPI. The department has made a preliminary determination that no further environmental analysis is needed before proceeding with funding.

Written or verbal comments regarding that decision and potential impacts of the projects may be provided by Nov. 9 to Dan Olson, Bureau of Community Financial Assistance, Department of Natural Resources, Box 7921, Madison, WI, 53707, or (608) 267-7475.

Two of the ponds are proposed to be located on Hawthorne Avenue, one near 18th Street and one near Columbus Street, and the other in an open area west of Forest Avenue near 29th Street.
