In all your school years, which teacher or class has affected you the most and why?

Mr. Penza, who teaches geometry, has the greatest impact on me. The reason I say that is because I realize I'm going to have to earn the grade that I want. It wasn't easy for me, but I did achieve it. That's when I realize you have to earn everything you want in the real world and it isn't going to be easy, but hard work always pays off.

What class has been the most challenging and why?

The most challenging class is probably college preparation literature. The reason it is my toughest class is because I have a hard time translating the author's literary work. Right now it is the hardest class I have taken my whole high school career, but I know the class will help me in the future.

What study habits have been crucial to your success?

The study habit that has been most beneficial is repetition. I usually study until I get sick of looking at the material. Repetition helps me remember things that are hard to memorize. Balance and being organized is also a big part of my success. It helps me keep track of items that need to be done on certain dates, and not cram everything into one night.

What are your plans after high school?

I plan on attending a four-year college. I'm looking at majoring in something in the medical field. I'm looking to become an athletic trainer. Otherwise, I plan on teaching at the high-school level as my second option.

What advice would you like to offer underclassmen?

Hard work pays off to those who earn it. Effort and determination can go a long way. Give it your all in everything you do, no matter the circumstances. Have fun and enjoy high school as much as you can because it goes fast.

What makes this student stellar?

"The first impression I had of Vince stems from his freshman year, when on career day he came to school in a shirt and tie and said that he wanted to become a teacher. He was very driven in my class that year, and I have seen the same determination in Vince throughout his time at Reedsville. Vince is a great leader in the classroom and is one of the hardest-working students I have seen in my 10 years of teaching. He is very deserving of being nominated as a 'Stellar Student.'" — Tim Aalsma, social studies teacher

In all your school years, which teacher or class has affected you the most and why?

I really enjoyed my advanced chemistry class. It taught me a lot and Mr. Korinek made the class challenging but also a lot of fun. The many labs and demonstrations that we got to do made the material exciting to learn and the class very entertaining. It sparked my interest further in the science field.

What class has been the most challenging and why?

Math analysis has been the most challenging class so far. I'm currently taking the class and it has challenged me the most because it's a fast-paced class that forces me to use all the math-related skills I have ever learned, and analyze why they work.

What study habits have been crucial to your success?

Time management has to be the most important study habit. Making sure I have enough time to get everything done, and done well, has been a challenge but it's something that will help me in the future. Staying organized and prioritizing things have also helped me a great deal.

What are your plans after high school?

My plans are to receive a bachelor's degree in the radiology field. I am still deciding which school I would like to attend.

What advice would you like to offer underclassmen?

Get involved in as much as you can. Make sure you take advantage of opportunities that come your way and always challenge yourself.

What makes this student stellar?

"Carlee White is a refreshing mix of hard work, intelligence and personality. She brings 100-percent effort to both the playing field and the classroom. She has the mental ability to solve complex problems and ask the right questions. Her presence lifts the mood of a room because of her contagious smile and personality. Carlee is a rare case of an individual who will make any situation she finds herself in better." — Kyle Korinek, science teacher
