Kimberly 3, Appleton West 0
At Kimberly, the Papermakers swept the Terrors 25-22, 25-14, 25-12.
The Papermakers will play the Lightning at Appleton North on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in a sectional semifinal.
Leading the way for Kimberly were Tanner Engmann, with four kills and 32 assists; Erike Harke, with 17 kills; Mitch Lenz, with eight kills; Brian Stark, with eight kills; Evan Rietveld, with four kills and four blocks; and Ger Xiong, with five digs.
Appleton West junior Jon Leveille had 10 kills and two blocks, while sophomore Nelson Milbach made four kills and five blocks.
Appleton North 3, Green Bay West/ Southwest 0
At Appleton, the Lightning cruised to victory 25-16, 25-7, 25-19.
Leading the way for North were John Doyle with 11 kills, Micky Flynn with 24 assists and Brent Bicigo with eight kills.
Neenah 3, Fond du Lac 1
At Fond du Lac, the Rockets rebounded from a first-set loss to win the match 9-25, 25-21, 28-26, 25-14, setting up a sectional semifinal at top-seeded Nicolet on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
"We came out slow, which has always been a problem for us this year," Neenah coach Brian Zimmerman reported. "But the difference is that, this time, we were able to respond and come out looking like a different team in sets 2, 3 and 4. I think the seniors realized what this match meant to the program in that it was our first playoff win in five years."
Rockets leaders include Jon Zerrien, with 10 kills, three blocks and five digs; Alex Malesa, with 13 kills, six blocks and three digs; Jordan Nelson, with 12 kills, 10 blocks and three digs; Ryan Robillard, with three kills, 22 assists, six blocks and two aces; and Alex Thomsen, with five kills, 16 assists, five blocks and two aces.
Green Bay Preble/East 3, Appleton East 1
At Appleton, the Patriots jumped out with a first-set win but couldn't keep their momentum going, losing the match 16-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-18.
Preble/East will go to top-seeded Kaukauna for a sectional semifinal on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
