Brussels: Last chance to tour Haunted Mansion

By Pamela Parks

Tonight is your last chance to take in this year's frightfully fun Haunted Mansion, which will be open 7 to 10 at Quietwoods South Camping Resort in Brussels. Visitors will walk along a Haunted Trail and through the Corn Maze of Madness, followed by a Haunted Bus Ride to the Haunted Mansion. General admission is $10.

For children, a special "lights up" time will be offered from 6 to 7 p.m., which includes a bag of treats. Lights-up admission is $6.

All proceeds from the Haunted Mansion benefit the Southern Door Community Auditorium.

Craft show

Don't miss the 29th annual craft show at Southern Door — the largest indoor craft show in the county. The Southern Door Athletic Booster Club will sponsor the show, which will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Admission costs $2 and enters each person into the door-prize drawing held every half hour. Food and beverages will be served all day as well, so plan to stop for a bite to eat before or after you search for the perfect Christmas gifts on your list, and maybe even a little something special for yourself.

Ballroom social

The date for the Family Centers Night Under the Stars Ballroom Dance and Evening Social for couples and single adults was omitted in my last column. The event will start at 7 p.m. Nov. 7.

Learn some simple dance moves at the Music and Arts School, at 606 N. 12th Ave., Sturgeon Bay; enjoy appetizers and beverages, and dance to the music of Rick Gordon and Mick Maloney — known as "The Elderly Brothers."

The cost is $15 per person, and reservations are required. Call the Family Centers' main office at (920) 825-1430 for information.

Tractors and toys

Southern Door FFA Alumni's fourth annual Tractor and Toy Show will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Southern Door High School gym at 2073 County DK, Brussels.

Admission to the show for ages 11 and older is $3 each. Children ages 9 and younger get in free.

Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. All proceeds support the activities of FFA members at Southern Door High School.

Space is still available for vendors. Tables can be reserved for the event for $10 each, and setup will take place from 6 to 9 the morning of the show.
