Family collaborates talents for exhibit

For the Marshfield News-Herald

Katherine and Susan Kloch Wendlandt will exhibit two pieces of artwork together at the Nicolet College art exhibit themed "Collaboration."

Susan, Katherine and Tessie Kloch (Katherine's grandmother) collaborated to create "Under the Sea," a blank embossed Intaglio Print. Katherine created the collagraph plate, Susan printed the plate on her Intaglio Press and Tessie Kloch created the lamp worked beads

Susan and her son Scott and his grandparents, Tessie and John Kloch, also entered a 3-D composition titled "State Of The Art."

The opening reception for "Collaboration" will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. today at Nicolet College Art Gallery in Rhinelander. The exhibit will run until Nov. 20.

Scott Wendlandt disassembles old computers and computer hard drives for his mother Susan. She takes the larger computer boards and alters them into art compositions.

Susan' parents, John and Tessie Kloch, create the lamp-worked beads to help enhance the aesthetics of the compositions.

Susan has collaborated with her parents many times in the past. They often work together in the art studio at her home on Carry Bluff.

You can find the family members collaborating together from Nov. 20 to 22 at the Jack Frost Holiday Boutique held at The Waters of Minocqua.
