Letters: Thompson's decisions only getting worse

With the signing of 32-year-old running back Ahman Green, I am now convinced that we have one of the worst and most unpredictable general managers in the NFL.

It was obvious during training camp that the Packers were having trouble running the ball with everyone, excluding Tyrell Sutton, now a member of the Carolina Panthers. Brandon Jackson, DeShawn Wynn and Kregg Lumpkin have only provided a glimpse of hope in a few games in the past few seasons as all three could never put together a solid year without injury.

I cannot trust Ted Thompson anymore to make transactions that will put the best possible team out on the field, regardless of their veteran or rookie status. But you never know, maybe Ahman Green could provide some upside to just the 19th best running game in the NFL.

The only positives I can see out of this signing are that I can finally unveil my Ahman Green jersey in my closet and that we are paying Ahman Green the veteran minimal salary.

Ryan Ellerbusch,

Neenah
