Lavina C. Rauscher, 94, formerly of Schofield, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at Mount View Care Center in Wausau.
She was born June 24, 1915, near Sand Creek, daughter of Harry and Anna (Syvertson) Davis. On June 10, 1936, she married Robert B. Rauscher in Bloomer. He preceded her in death Feb. 25, 1997.
Lavina was a homemaker and, with her husband, owned Rothschild Lumber and Fuel. For many years, they had a receiving home for foster children. She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church and a former volunteer with the American Red Cross. Lavina enjoyed taking bus trips to theater groups and the casino.
Survivors include five children and 13 grandchildren, son Robert (Grace) Rauscher, Janesville, and their children, Carrie (Karl) Wedel, Pamela (Jeff Schultz), Kevin (Wendy) Rauscher and Lynnae Rauscher; son Dennis (Janet) Rauscher, Weston, and their children, David (Wanda) Rauscher, Karin (Ron) Smith and Dan (Jennifer) Rauscher; son Larry (Anita) Rauscher, Combined Locks, and their children Michele (Scott) Voet and Marla (Greg) Lingenfelter; daughter Donella (Richard) Kleifgen, Stevens Point, and their children, Jeremy (Ann Leahy) Kleifgen and Jameson Kleifgen; and daughter Mary James, California, and her children, Mathew James and Megan James. Lavina is further survived by 17 great-grandchildren, Amy, Kelly and Megan Rauscher, Brittany Schultz, Allison and Emily Rauscher, Jonathan Rauscher, Cara and Cailyn Falkowski, and Tanner Carlson, Marissa and Mason Voet, Alex, Nick and Ian Lingenfelter, and Katherine and Nathan Rauscher; and also two sisters, Carol (Erling) Dahl and Ethel (Wilmer) Standford.
Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Gladys; brothers, Alfred, Clifford, Mike, Peter, Lester and Howard; one grandson, Jordan Kleifgen; and two great-granddaughters, Sarah and Emily Rauscher.
Lavina will be truly missed by her family and friends.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 27, 2009, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild, with the Rev. Donald Berg presiding. Burial was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Mosinee.
