Post-Crescent West

New London Middle

Sixth-grade students will travel to Camp U-Nah-Li-Yah on Monday.
Students will attend the high school’s production of “The Wizard of Oz” on Wednesday.
There will be a dance incentive, sponsored by the student council, on Nov. 6.
Boys’ basketball has begun with after-school practices. The first game is scheduled Thursday when eighth-graders host Oconto Falls. The seventh-grade team will travel to Oconto Falls. Seventh-grade coaches are Kyle Lubinski and Phil Sloma, and eighth-grade coaches are Brian Rill and Jay Daly.

Parkview Elementary

Thanks to everyone who attended the “Spooktacular” Halloween benefit dance for Sam Teschke. Thanks also to Bult’s Bakery for donating cookies and frosting, the New London swimming pool for donating family pool passes, New London High School Athletic Department for donating a family athletic pass for the 2009-10 school year and the high school store for donating Bulldogs apparel and bumper stickers. Proceeds will assist the Teschke family with medical and travel expenses.
School picture retakes will be done on Monday.
On Tuesday, students in grades 3-5 will attend the musical, “The Wizard of Oz,” at the high school.
A Parent-Teacher Organization meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Childcare will be provided.

Sugar Bush Elementary

Thursday marks the end of the quarter.
The Parent-Teacher Organization’s Family Movie Night will take place Nov. 6 in the gym. Set-up begins at 6 p.m. and the show will start at 6:30 p.m.

Readfield Elementary

On Tuesday, students in grades 3-5 will see a dress rehearsal of the high school’s musical, “The Wizard of Oz.”
Market Day pick-up will be held at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday. Those living in the Readfield area who would like to take advantage of the service, but don’t have school-age children can call the office and visit www.marketday.com.

Emanuel Lutheran

A winter sports information meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Second-graders will enjoy an AMVETS “Respect the Flag” program at 9:45 a.m. Thursday.
Nov. 6 marks the end of the first quarter. An all-school worship is scheduled for 8:15 a.m. Parents are invited to attend.
A fall book fair will run from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. to noon Thursday. The youth group will host a chili supper from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Most Precious Blood Catholic

The school would like to thank the Home & School Association for hosting the recent “Movie Night.” Thanks also to the families who helped plan the event, set up, sell concessions and clean up.

Hortonville High

Tryouts for winter competitive cheerleading teams will be held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Information will be handed out at 3:20 p.m. Monday in the old elementary gym. Candidates should have a physical card on file. For more information, contact Julie Pankow.

Hortonville Elementary

Parent-teacher conference appointment times will be sent home next week. Parents should call the school if their assigned time poses a conflict.

Bethlehem Lutheran

Report cards will be sent home with students on Wednesday.
Second-graders will visit Fox Valley Lutheran High School on Wednesday morning. Former Bethlehem students will lead them on a tour and they’ll hear a choral performance.

St. Edward

On Wednesday, students and staff participated in a service project to build birthday boxes. The boxes were decorated and filled with cake mix, frosting, party favors and other items. They are given to St. Joe’s pantry and are enjoyed by boys and girls in the Appleton area. Students make birthday boxes every month.

Greenville Middle

Starting Monday, the district’s after-school activity buses will no longer be running. They will resume on March 1 and continue through May 21.

Greenville Elementary

School picture retakes will be done at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 6.
The Parent-Teacher Organization will host a Fall Harvest Dance from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 6 in the gym. Carmel apples, nachos and drinks will be available for a small fee. For more information, call Renee Lafleur-Linder at 920-757-0482.
“Mix It Up Day” will take place Tuesday. Students are encouraged to wear mixed-up clothes, mix up seating at their usual lunch tables and meet new friends.
A book exchange will be held Thursday in the cafeteria. Students should bring gently-used books to share with others.

Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran

The “Kohl’s Healthy Kids” educational program will be presented to students in grades K-4 on Wednesday. They will learn about healthy life skills and participate in activities.
Report cards will be sent home on Wednesday.

Shiocton High

Nov. 6 marks the end of the first quarter. Students will be dismissed at 12:10 p.m. that day.
