Francis P. "Frank" Hermans, 87, Allouez died peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009.
Frank was born July 16, 1922, in Green Bay, son of the late Anton and Elizabeth (Duggan) Hermans.
He married Geraldine Kosciuk at St. Mary of the Angels on May 29, 1949.
Frank was attending St. Norbert College when duty for World War II called. He served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater and returned to graduate from St. Norbert College.
Frank taught at Central Catholic High School from 1947 to 1954. He was then employed by WBAY-TV, serving as business manager until his retirement in 1984. Frank served on many boards and committees including the first Board of Education at Premontre High School for many years.
Frank was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Faith, family and service to others were his trademarks. He was deeply devoted to the recitation of his favorite daily prayer, the rosary, with Geri. Frank loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed the time vacationing at their cottage on Hemlock Lake.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Geri; four children, Dennis (Pamela) Hermans, Green Bay; Mark Hermans, New Franken; Greg (Karol) Hermans, Midland, Mich.; and Mary (Kurt) Aldrich, Fort Worth, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Rosann Hermans, Auburn, Mich.; ten grandchildren, Craig (Juanita), Chad (Kelly) and Keith (Lindsay) Hermans, Christopher (fiancee, Tara Johanek) and Jonathan (special friend, Megan Gilfillan) Hermans; Karley, Kacy (fiance, Will Crawford) and Alexsandra Hermans, Abby and Garrett Aldrich; two great-grandchildren, Skylar Joy and Brianna Rose Hermans. Frank is also survived by two brothers and one sister, Harry (Ellen) Hermans, Vincent (Doris) Hermans, Mary (Tom) Hogan, all of Green Bay.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Stephen and daughter, Peggy Hermans, one brother, Leo Hermans, and one sister, Evelyn Moudry.
Friends may call on Saturday at St. Mary of the Angels Church, corner of Cass and Irwin from 9 to 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. with Rev. Tom Wojciechowski, OFM, officiating. The entire Hermans family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and volunteers at the Jack and Engrid Meng Residence for their kindness and compassionate care of Frank and his family in their time of need. A special thanks also to our dear friend Jan Motiff who was always there for us; and to the many friends who called, offered their prayers or sent cards to support Frank and his family during his illness.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Frank's name.
