St. Philip to host pancake breakfast
RUDOLPH -- A pancake breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday in Wagner Hall at St. Philip Catholic Church, 6957 Grotto Ave., Rudolph.
The menu will include potato and regular pancakes, homemade pork sausage patties, homemade applesauce and sweet rolls. The cost is $6.50 for adults, $3 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for those 5 years and younger.
The event is sponsored by the Catholic Order of Foresters Court #475. All proceeds and matching funds will be used for new church pews and repairs of the church floor.
PCCW to hold fall dinner
JUNCTION CITY -- The St. Michael Parish Council of Catholic Women will hold its annual fall dinner and country store on Sunday at St. Michael Catholic Church, 324 Main St., Junction City. The event begins with a polka Mass, with music by The Choraleers and Old Tyme Brass, at 9:30 a.m.
A chicken dinner with all the trimmings will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The cost is $9 for adults, $4 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for preschoolers. Carryouts will be available for $9.
Father-daughter dance Nov. 7
The Stevens Point Area YMCA will hold a semi-formal dance for fathers and daughters from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 7. The event will include dancing, games, hors d'oeuvres and pictures.
The fee is $10 per person for YMCA members and $15 per person for the general public. Pre-registration is required by Nov. 3; to register, call 342-2980.
Stamp Club to host annual show
PLOVER -- The Central Wisconsin Stamp Club will hold its annual stamp show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Plover Municipal Center, 2400 Post Road, Plover. The show will include eight stamp dealers, a U.S. Postal Service Postal Station and stamp exhibits. The show cover will honor Edgar Allen Poe and will be available at the event.

Art Village classes set
Art Village, 929 Main St., will offer the following classes:
Clay Story Vases -- The ancient Greeks used to depict mythological stories on their clay vessels. In this workshop you'll experiment with your own version of story vases as you create a clay pot and decorate it with your own story. The class will be from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 7. The cost is $25.
Van Gogh Painting -- Vincent Van Gogh was a painter who liked to use thick paint and vibrant colors to express emotion of everyday subjects. In this workshop, you'll experiment with using quick brushstrokes and bright colors to express your emotion. The class will be from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 14. The cost is $15.

Works sought for Sculpture Park
The Stevens Point Sculpture Park is accepting submission of sculpture work for its first three-year outdoor sculpture exhibition. A local jury will choose pieces for display from April 15, 2010, to April 15, 2013.
Artist submissions that are selected will receive $750 for a three-year exhibition loan of their piece. Sculpture submissions need to be free standing; foundations or bases are not provided. Delivery, installation and return of work are the artist's responsibility.
A wide variety of work will be considered, including: site specific work, ephemeral and/or permanent work, work in a variety of scales, art with a performance component, etc. Materials must be appropriate for the environmental location. Artists may submit up to five pieces for consideration.
