A benefit on behalf of an area Marine who was seriously injured in Afghanistan will be held Saturday, Oct. 31, at Branson's BBQ, 525 N. Peters Ave.
The event for Josh Wege, who is rehabilitating at Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., will be held from 4 p.m. to closing. Food will be served until 9:30 p.m. Carryout will be available.
Branson's BBQ is donating 25 percent of its total food and drink sales to Josh and his family.
Persons wearing a Halloween costume will receive $5 worth of raffle tickets.
There are numerous raffle items available, including gift and restaurant certificates and a team-autographed Green Bay Packers football.
Besides the item raffles, there will be 50/50 raffles.

Persons attending the benefit will be asked to sign and write a note of encouragement on Christmas cards to be sent to troops overseas. The cards will be given to Fond du Lac's Operation SEND (Showing Encouragement to our Nation's Deployed) to be sent to deployed troops all over the world.
Josh Wege sustained severe wounds to his legs and both of his feet were amputated. The attack occurred Oct. 4.
His mother is a teacher at Winnebago Lutheran Academy, from which Josh graduated in 2008. His father is principal at Waucousta Lutheran School.
