Letters: City forester will be missed

When it was recently decided to eliminate the position of Superintendent of Parks, Forestry and Cemetery as a budget cut, we the members of Town and Country Garden Club were disheartened. Paul Meyer has worked in this department since the early 1970s.

During this time, we have relied extensively on Paul's guidance, expertise and administrative leadership.

Paul's knowledge and enthusiasm were critical in the projects at Indian Mound Park, Maywood, Mead Public Library and the downtown planters.

Paul's care has been all encompassing throughout the city from the beautiful parks to the thousands of trees lining the streets of Sheboygan. We are honored to have worked with Paul Meyer, and appreciative of his many years of inspiring service.

We, the officers of Town and Country Garden Club on behalf of our 35 members, say that he will be greatly missed.
