Spooking, shrieking, scaring all over the Peninsula
Resorter Reporter
Halloween happenings around Door County:
• Not one, but four scary spots highlight “The Haunted Mansion” in Brussels.
The spooking starts with a walk down the Haunted Trail through a cemetery and into the old settlement of “Belgianville.”
At the end of the trail is a new feature this year, a mini corn maze in which terror seekers, along with navigating the maze, stop into the Road Kill Café, a terrifying old-fashioned drive-in.
Next is a haunted bus ride on either the Snake Bus or the Jail Bus, each decorated appropriately. Riders will be treated to several stops where character spooks will board the bus for a bit of fun.
The bus drops off patrons at the Haunted Mansion, where 18 rooms and as many as 60 spooks prey on every fear imaginable.
Those who survive the entire attraction without the use of an emergency exit can sign the “Survivor Wall.”
The Haunted Mansion is open from 7-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30-31, at Quietwoods South Camping Resort, off County K in Brussels. A special “lights up” spooking for young children takes place from 6-7 p.m. Oct. 31, with a bag of goodies at the end for the little survivors. Admission is $10 for the regular haunt, $6 for the lighter spooking; proceeds benefit Southern Door Community Auditorium.

The trolley offers two other spooky rides. The two-hour tour departs at 6 p.m. Oct. 30-31 from Stone Harbor Resort, 107 N. First Ave., Sturgeon Bay. Cost is $21 for ages 13 and older, $16 ages 2-12.

Alcohol is not provided but available for puchase at each establishment; it is not required to drink on the four-hour tour.
