TOMAHAWK -- A new program in Lincoln County will help families learn ways to control their finances and stretch their dollars.

The Lincoln County Family Resource Centers will offer the "Stretching the Family Dollar" program from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Tomahawk Family Resource Center, 108 W. Somo Ave., Tomahawk.

Jennifer Smith, family living educator with the Langlade County UW-Cooperative Extension, will lead a discussion on basic budgeting for the program.

Smith said the workshop is free and open to anyone who wants to make his or her money go further.

"We'll talk about needs and wants," Smith said.

To register, call Lincoln County Resource Centers at 539-9228 in Merrill or 453-9969 in Tomahawk.
