On Oct. 13, Adams County Sheriff's Department canine handler Deputy Craig Orlowski, and his partner, K-9 Deputy Kyra, received two prestigious awards from the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Canine Handler Association at a ceremony held at Chula Vista Resort.

Orlowski received "K-9 Handler of the Year 2009" award. He was nominated by his peers, fellow K-9 handlers, from numerous departments throughout Wisconsin. Kyra received the "Meritorious K-9 Track" award for her actions in a competition testing tracking abilities.

Both were recognized at the Adams County Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday.
