Klein, James M. "Jim"
James M. "Jim" Klein, 74, Stockbridge, died on Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at his home in Stockbridge. He was born Oct. 3, 1935, son of the late Michael and Anna (Croell) Klein. Jim graduated high school and enlisted in the United States Army, during which time he was stationed in Japan. Following his discharge from the military, he married Dawn Weisgerberger on Sept. 29, 1956, at St. Mary Church in Menasha. Jim worked at the George Banta Company in Menasha and retired at the age of 60. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge, and was a member of the Graphic Communications Union.
Jim will always be remembered as a quiet, reserved individual who was very devoted to his family. He volunteered his time as Scoutmaster for the Stockbridge Boy Scout Troop and frequently took time to tinker on projects and fix things around the house. Jim was a Green Bay Packer fan, enjoyed working on cars and loved watching drag racing. He also treasured the time he could spend with his son at the track racing their own dragster.
Survivors include his wife, Dawn; five children, Jeff Klein, Chilton; Daniel (Sherry) Klein, Stockbridge; Mike (Debbie) Klein, Chilton; Shari (Doug) Daun, Chilton; Brett Klein, Stockbridge; seven grandchildren, Michael, Brooke, Heather, Brittany, Adam, Whitney and Eric; one great-grandchild, Kennedie; and two sisters, Evelyn Couilliard, Menasha; and Delores Van Hammond, Kimberly. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Eugene and Robert Klein; and two brothers-in-law, Eugene Couilliard and Bud Van Hammond.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge, with the Rev. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep officiating. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, when the service will be held.
Memorials are appreciated for the Huntington's Disease Society of America in the name of James M. Klein.
