McCourt 50th

Charles and Ruth McCourt will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 31.

The former Ruth Liner of Van Dyne and Charles McCourt of Fond du Lac were married at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in North Fond du Lac, Oct. 31, 1959. Their wedding attendants were Joanne Liner Ruch and the late William Wagner.

Mr. McCourt was a lifelong dairy farmer. He is now retired but still serves as chairman of the town of Friendship. He also volunteers for Presentation Parish as an usher and, as needed, on other projects.

Mrs. McCourt worked as a registered nurse. She is retired also but continues to teach CCD classes at Presentation Church.

The couple has 10 children: Mike of Frederick, Colo., Julie and her husband Dave Loehr of Eagan, Minn., John and his wife Mary of Oshkosh, Tom and his wife Kim of New Haven, Conn., Kate and her late husband Mark Zdroik of Rosholt, Wis., Pete of North Fond du Lac, Mary and her husband Brian Klempke of Savage, Minn., Joe of Fond du Lac, Matt and his wife Rose of Fond du Lac and Patty and her husband Mike Adams of Oakfield. The McCourts also have 20 grandchildren.

An open house was held at their home on Aug. 22 to celebrate their anniversary.
