Sister Bay column: American Legion welcomes vets

The Sister Bay American Legion Post 527 welcomes veterans returning from service to join their post. This invitation also includes any vet who has recently moved to the area. Post 527 is very active, doing many good things for the community. They meet on the first Monday of every month at the Sister Bay Village Hall. For information , call Cmmdr. Moravian Church chicken dinner

The Sister Bay Moravian Church presents its annual chicken dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Everyone is invited. The cost is $12.50 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12 and free for children younger than 6. Proceeds from the dinner are designated for the Sister Bay Moravian Church's Mission Pledge to the Adopt-a-Village program in Tanzania, Africa. The church is on the corner of Hill and Old Stage Roads.

Lions Club Halloween Party

The Sister Bay Lions Club is sponsoring a Halloween Party for Little Goblins at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Fire House on Mill Road.There will be fun games and prizes, as well as a special prize for any child who donates a pair of old eyeglasses for the Lions Club Glasses Project.

The Lions contribute much to our community. Recent donations include: $13,000 for the Gibraltar gym bleachers, $5,000 in scholarships, $10,000 for the Sister Bay Sports Complex, $3,000 for Gibraltar Fine Arts and $2,100 for the Packers Night for Kids.
