NEW LONDON — The parks and recreation department has announced the schedule for its fall programs.
Open gym
A supervised open gym will be available at the Washington Center, 600 W. Washington St., from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays and from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturdays starting Nov. 4. When schoolchildren have early-release days, the gym will be open at 2 p.m. The fee is $1 per visit or $8 for 10 passes, payable at the gym. Participants can play basketball, kickball, football, volleyball, softball and other games. Equipment is provided.
Zumba
Zumba classes, for ages 16 and older, will be held at 6 p.m. Thursdays and 9:30 a.m. Saturdays at the Washington Center gym. Tickets are available at the parks and recreation office, 215 N. Shawano St. A basic class is offered at 9:30 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Tickets for the basic class are available at the New London Community Center, 600 W. Washington St.
Aerobics
Step aerobics and body sculpting classes, for ages 16 and older, will be held at the Washington Center gym. Classes take place at 4:30 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and at 6 a.m. Saturdays. Tickets are available at the parks and recreation office.
Basketball
Men’s officiated and unofficiated basketball registration will run through Nov. 20. The officiated league will be held Wednesday nights starting Dec. 2 and will end with a league tournament beginning Feb. 17. The cost is $275 with a $5 charge for nonresident players. The unofficiated league will begin Dec. 6 and end with a league tournament beginning Feb. 6. The cost is $90 with a $5 charge for nonresident players. All games will be played at the Washington Center gym.

Yoga
Yoga registration is being accepted for the session that runs from Nov. 3 to Dec. 15 at the Washington Center. The cost is $20 for residents and $32 for nonresidents.
Pool programs
“Fit, Fin and Fun,” for ages 5 to adult, is being offered by the New London Aquatic and Fitness Center. The program is a land- and water-based fitness class tailored to individual abilities. Classes are held from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Nov. 17.
“Low and Slow Water Walking” will begin Nov. 3. The class will take place from 8 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 4 to 5 p.m. Sundays.
The cost for both programs is $2 per resident and $3.25 for nonresidents.
