Brillion's Ronald Schwanke, Bernadette Schwanke injured in Calumet County crash on State 57

CHILTON — A Brillion couple suffered injuries Wednesday night when the car they were in struck a semi on State 57.

The Calumet County Sheriff's Department said Ronald Schwanke, 66, and his wife, Bernadette Schwanke, 58, were treated at local hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries after the 7 p.m. crash at Fur Farm Road.

They were injured when the northbound car driven by Ronald Schwanke struck the trailer of a semi that was attempting to make a U-turn in the intersection.

The semi was driven by Nino Bubas, 33, of Sheboygan. He was not injured.

The Schwankes were trapped in their vehicle.

Ronald Schwanke was treated and released at CMC and his wife was transferred to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton.
