Kyle Severson, a son of Gary and Denise Severson of Nekoosa, attended the 68th Wisconsin Badger Boys State at Ripon College from June 13 to 20. While there, he participated in sessions on leadership, parliamentary procedure and law.

Severson was elected city clerk for the fictitious city of Salomon, county clerk for the county of Cameron and secretary of state for the state of Badger. He represented the Federalist Party.

During the inaugural ceremony, Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton spoke to the crowd of more than 800 Badger Boys and their guests. Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Ann Walsh Bradley administered the oath of office to each newly elected officer for the state of Badger. Severson also performed in the Badger Boys Chorus during the inaugural ceremony.

He was sponsored by Wisconsin American Legion Post No. 9 of Wisconsin Rapids and the Wisconsin Rapids Rotary Club.
