Two people, including a Cedar Grove man, were injured in a head-on crash Wednesday afternoon involving a semi and a minivan on county Highway LL in the Town of Belgium, according to the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Department.

Lt. C.A. McCormick said the crash occurred about 3:20 p.m. on Highway LL near Jay Road when a northbound 1991 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Todd Drake, 39, of Cedar Grove, crossed the centerline and struck a southbound 2005 International refrigerated cube truck driven by Gregory Nelson, 38, of Bear Creek.

Drake was taken by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, but the press release from the sheriff's department said the extent and severity of Drake's injuries were not known.

Nelson was taken to Columbia St. Mary's Hospital in Mequon with minor injuries. He was treated and released. The truck he was driving is owned by Bromak Sales of Clintonville.

No other passengers were in either vehicle. The crash remains under investigation and the sheriff's department said it did not know why the minivan crossed the centerline.

McCormick said it is not known whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.

Also, there was a two-vehicle crash on state Highway 57 south of Chilton that closed the highway about 7 p.m. Wednesday night.

Information was not immediately available on whether people were injured in the crash.
